If you’re not able to receive LEGI support or advice, we will still try to help you by signposting you to other areas of support and advice.
The LEGI programme has a network of Job Brokers to help people find work. Apart from identifying suitable jobs, the Job Brokers have access to a range of support to enable you to take up these opportunities. This may include assistance with the purchase of necessary clothes or equipment; it can also include support for specific work-related training. The LEGI programme can also provide ongoing support for both employees and employers once a vacancy has been filled. In addition, the LEGI programme can support people in applying for vacancies with large employers moving into Coventry such as IKEA, Primark and Isle of Capri.
Businesses in the LEGI area could receive assistance from an accredited LEGI Business Coach. The Coach will work with your business to help it grow and develop. This will include:
- Advice on product and service development – best practice, innovation, technical expertise
- Support with operational issues: marketing, IT, workforce development and skills training, premises
- Advice on access to finance: financial awareness and capability, debt finance, risk capital
If you are considering starting your own business, you could receive one to one support from an accredited LEGI Business Mentor. Through the Mentor you may access a range of business support services, including:
- Advice on the opportunities of self employment – rewards and challenges
- Advice on identifying a quality business idea and support with business planning and development
- Advice on accessing finance; grants and loans
- Tailored assistance and support through the early months of trading
- Support in acquiring the technical skills necessary to run a particular type of business
- Advice in respect of property and access to 'incubator' facilities (computer with business software, a phone and meeting space)
- Information on other business support available
